Abstract

This research studies the decentralization process in district Gujrat-Punjab, Pakistan under the Punjab Local Government Act-2013. The objectives are to analyze the role of political, administrative, and fiscal dimensions in building trust regarding local government among the general public. The conceptual model is based on comprehensive theory of decentralization and Punjab Local Government Act-2013. The model is based on three independent variables i.e., Governance, Political Participation, and Fiscal Management in local government and dependent variable is Public Trust on local Government. The hypothetical model is tested with survey based quantitative methodology. The data is collected from general public (voters of local government) in District Gujrat. The results provide strong and significant support for all three variables i.e., Governance, Political Participation, and Fiscal Management for Public Trust on local Government
