Abstract

The Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, India, which is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a manifestation of the Hindu god Vishnu, is one of the most well-known and recognised Hindu temples. One of Hinduism's Char Dhams, or four sacred abodes, the temple is revered. The 12th-century temple is famed for its unique construction, which includes a curving tower and exquisite sculptures. It is surrounded by a large complex of smaller temples, halls, and other religious structures. One of the most well-known features of the Jagannath Temple is the annual Ratha Yatra celebration, in which Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and sister Subhadra are shown in a beautiful procession atop large, artistically adorned chariots. The festival is a significant occasion that draws thousands of pilgrims from all across India and the rest of the globe to Puri.
