Female Perspective In The Novels Of Toni Morrison

Abstract
R. K. Narayan is incontrovertibly one of the most popular writers in the world. His chronicling of the life at the ‘back of beyond’ township of Malgudi has been recognized as a unique attempt to create the outer framework of a regional novel which essentially captures the spirit of humanity in general and India in particular. Narayan's novels are characterised by Chekhovian Simplicity and gentle humour. As has been rightly said " by "Graham Greener, "Narayan's light, vivid style, with its sense of time passing of the unrealized beauty of human relationships so often recalls Chekhov.” He told stories of simple folk's trying to live their simple lives in a changing world. He rarely addresses political issues or tries to explore the cutting edge of fiction. Almost all of his writings are set in the fictional city of Malgudi and are narrowly focused on the lives of relatively humble individuals, neither extremely poor nor very rich. The Guide is one of his most interesting books, which begins as a comic book about the life of a rogue but evolves into something quite different.
