Main Article Content
Abstract
This study was aimed at the evaluation of the functionality of educational region branch teachers committee (ERBTC) for physics teachers from different schools. In the work, where a case study method was adopted, document analysis, observations and semi-structured interviews were used as data sources. The participants of the study consist of four physics teachers working in an educational region in the province of Trabzon. Findings indicate that although heads of branch teachers had fulfilled its duties, the ERBTC meetings did not achieve their purpose because the submitted results were not seriously taken into consideration by the authorities. To members of ERBTC, the compulsory regional meetings seemed to be routine, producing always the same decisions. It was also concluded that the records of the meetings did not literally reflect the discussions and suggestions proposed by the members.
