Utilization of IoT and Image Processing to Create a Smart Vehicle Registry

Abstract

Everything is being automated in the contemporary technological age because of many technologies. An automated Smart Vehicle Registry with zero human intervention is constantly needed. With the help of a single automated system, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and Image Processing, a vehicle and its driver may be registered as they enter a designated zone. Various efforts in the fields of RFID and image processing are reviewed in this article. The proposed system consists of an RFID system that can be used to scan the person driving the vehicle, and Image processing system that includes a camera and an open-source library to scan and record the vehicle registration plate number, and a front end that manages the input and output flow of the system. The system described in this work is designed such that analysis of the output data may be conducted quickly and simply. Additionally, this article analyses the numerous results and future tasks that may be done to enhance the system in detail.
